While doing these readings I kept on hearing songs with each pull and that’s NOT usual for me. So instead of ignoring it, I went with the flow, and hopefully, this offers a fun experience. The funny part is I don’t always know the lyrics of the songs that pop in. So I have to trust that there’s an added message inside the song. I also had no choice really. I don’t even particularly like some of these songs, so please don’t let them be a reflection of my musical taste (I mean, Enya?!)
Taurus solar return card of the year: 6 of Wands. This is the card of victory, and let that be your mantra for this year. Elevate yourself above whatever’s happening and take the long view. From that vantage point, you’ll be able to see with clarity the road ahead.
Taurus - Happy solar return, Taurus! Even though it’s your time to shine you might be feeling a little vulnerable and less visible than usual this month. When I tap into your energy I hear Cyndi Lauper belting, “ I see your true colors shining through. I see your true colors and that’s why I love you. So don’t be afraid to let them show. Your true colors are beautiful like a rainbow.” I don’t usually do forecasts in lyrics, but when I hear it I gotta share!
Card: Page of Cups
Song: True Colors by Cyndi Lauper
Gemini - This month allow yourself to bask in even your wildest dreams. The card pulled for you this month is literally referred to as the “wish” card. It’s the time to put your biggest wishes out there and expect for them to be fulfilled. Allow yourself to be open to receive whatever blessings are about to come your way.
Card: 9 of Cups
Song: Once Upon a Time by The Moody Blues
Cancer - You might feel like you’re forced to take a pause or that your best-laid plans have been suspended. Try not to get frustrated and don’t fight against the tide. If anything let that tide toss you around a bit and see if the highs and lows of going with the flow offers a new perspective. There’s additional insight available to those patient and persistent enough to seek it.
Song: Hold Back the River by James Bay
Leo - Frustration might come out in wonky ways this month, specifically by picking fights with loved ones or getting overly competitive when you feel threatened. By the end of this month you might feel like you’ve been in battle, if not with others then maybe with yourself. Try your best not to poke or provoke those around you, and if you slip up do your best to make amends ASAP or there could be some bad blood.
Card: 5 of Swords
Song: Bad Blood by Taylor Swift
Virgo - It’s not the time to make any bold moves this month. Envision yourself on a nexus. Look behind you. Reflect on the steps you took that landed you in this very place. The past isn’t there to haunt you, in times of confusion it’s there to remind you of the guideposts that lead the way. Then, look as far over the horizon as possible. Really stretch to see the options ahead. Before you take the next step, make sure the path ahead is the one you really want to venture down. If not, it’s ok to wait.
Card: 7 of Pentacles
Song: Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper
Libra - Libras are usually so sweet, but this month you’ve had enough. It’s time to allow yourself to feel and move through all the hurt places that keep you playing it smaller than you want to. The truth is, you’ve been hurt and mistreated. Sure, we don’t want that to define you -- but we also can’t pretend it didn’t happen. This month is a great time to really get those hurt places healed so you can spread your wings and fly. Use this month’s song as a method to embody and move through those feelings.
Card: 8 of Swords
Song: Alanis Morissette You Oughta Know
Scorpio - Meditate. Meditate. Meditate. This is the time to either start or double down on a meditation practice. You must have a way to relax the mind because through that quieting the wisdom and intuition can pour through. Without it, the mind becomes an enemy and your psychic sense gets muddy. This month’s song is a simple uplifting meditation with a modern flare.
Card: 4 of Swords
Song: Behold the Light by White Sun
Sagittarius - Some of the stress and heavy energy of the past weeks and months may start to mount and feel overwhelming. It might feel like you can’t quite see your way out of your current situation. There’s no escaping uncertainty as we’re learning that certainty at all is just a myth we believe in to help us cope. Your best course of action is to stay the course, feel the feelings, and know that the sky will part and clarity is just around the corner.
Card: 10 of Wands
Song: Bad Moon Rising by CCR
Capricorn - Just because the world is falling apart for some people doesn’t mean that has to be your experience. It might feel “weird” to be doing more than ok, but it’s totally alright to celebrate your accomplishments and jolts of good fortune. In fact, it’s your mandate this month to freaking celebrate. So raise a glass and make a toast to the awesome person you are and all you have achieved.
Card: 4 of Wands
Song: Celebration by Kool and the Gang
Aquarius - Your message is the same as your Scorpio friends. Meditation and anything to clear your mind (especially breathwork) will do you a world of good this month, especially if and when anxiety spikes. You’re the master of your mind, you just have to give it the resources it needs to function at its highest level.
Card: 4 of Swords
Song: Only Time by Enya
Pisces - This is a great time to dive into the happy places of your past that make you feel like a kid again. Look through memory boxes or old photographs and explore what it was like to be you way back then through a lens of appreciation for the life you’ve lived before today. Also, don’t be surprised if you hear from an old pal or loved one. The energy is primed for reconnection and nostalgia.
Card: 6 of Cups
Song: Jack & Diane by John Mellencamp
Aries - The card that was pulled is also the card associated with your zodiac sign dear Aries. This month you are really going to be at home within yourself. You are being called to lead and be a model of fortitude and consistency for those who surround you. You’re used to being an exemplar, but this month be more conscious of your impact than usual.
Song: Emperors by The Quiet Hounds
