The Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017 is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the whole sun covered by the moon and to experience a dark sky during the height of the afternoon. This will be an out and back day trip with bus full of Modern Mystics.
Together we will meet in the parking lot of Paris on Ponce to take a charter bus to the only place in the state to see the eclipse in its totality, Rabun County. We will be attending Georgia's only total eclipse viewing party, "OutASight", at the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School.
During this viewing party there will be music, food, and screens set up across the viewing area to watch as a NASA feed is shown with experts walking us through what is happening as the eclipse touches each state beginning on the west coast and comes across before it leaves on the east coast.
Also, the GSU Astronomy Department is co-sponsoring the event and professors will be there with solar telescopes and with eclipse-related displays and presentations.
There will also be mystical activities when we arrive with the option for mini tarot readings, etc for the group. So bring your decks if you're into that kind of thing.
